Assistive
Technology Lab
Assistive
technology equipment and computer software are available
for OSD students in a wheelchair accessible environment
on the Boca, Davie, Jupiter, and Port St. Lucie campuses.
To use the Boca Assistive Technology (AT) Lab, OSD
students must first attend an Assistive Technology
Lab Orientation. This orientation is designed to provide
an overview of all assistive technology available
in the lab. This gives the student the opportunity
to participate in the process of determining which
technology would be best suited for each individual
special need. In addition, the lab orientation explains
procedures and rules for working in the lab.
Training is available for the following equipment
and software:
We also offer help in basic computer skills to our students:
Students can fill out our Technology Competency Assessment and bring it in with them to help the lab staff address areas in which they may need assistance

All OSD AT Lab computers are equipped with software
for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentations,
and include internet access to MyFAU, OASIS, and Blackboard.
Questions regarding these applications are always
welcomed. In addition, some equipment may be loaned
based upon individual need and availability. Our Boca Staff, Louis, Jill, and Stuart (pictured below) are available for training of students on all campuses. They posses experience and knowledge in all areas of assistive technology as well as learning skills and study strategies.
